In Time To Come

During a country’s Independence celebrations, a time capsule containing totemic objects is lovingly prepared for installation, bearing gifts to grace a future time. Meanwhile, an old time capsule from the last era is exhumed, revealing enigmatic objects from the past. Against this backdrop, a filmmaker traverses her country filming scenes and rituals for her personal archive.

Using wide framing and long stately takes, everyday familiar moments are imbued with a mysterious feel. Suddenly, the past, present and future collide and we are not as clear as to where we are.
