Synopsis

After serving 20 years in prison for killing an accomplice to her rape when she was 16, a resolute woman named Pertiwi returns to her remote hometown in the East Java countryside. Instead of a warm welcome, she faces an uneasy reunion with her parents and severe hostility from the community. The four chauvinistic men responsible for her past suffering have now risen to power and rule the village.
As her arrival forces her to reckon with a painful personal history, Pertiwi finds strength in things that have been abandoned. She forms a deep solidarity with a group of social outcasts living on the fringes. Guided by a deaf-mute teenager whose experiences painfully mirror her own, Pertiwi sets out to uncover the town's dark secrets, confront her past, and redefine her meaning of home, family, and peace.
